Raphael Reichl

Lives and works in Vienna / Mexico City.
Whenever Raphael Reichl deals with people's existential conflicts and their real life situations, he strives to question the official narratives and their perception. He pursues a similarly reflexive approach in his work with creative media, be it analogue film, a sheet of paper or the realisation of a video installation. On the basis of documentary approaches, Reichl deals with topics of digitalisation, ecology or precarious work.

Wann immer Raphael Reichl sich mit den existenziellen Konflikten der Menschen und ihren realen Lebenssituationen auseinandersetzt, ist er bestrebt, die offiziellen Narrative und deren Wahrnehmung zu hinterfragen. Einen ähnlich reflexiven Ansatz verfolgt er auch in seiner Arbeit mit kreativen Medien, sei es analoger Film, ein Blatt Papier oder die Umsetzung einer Videoinstallation. Auf der Basis dokumentarischer Herangehensweisen beschäftigt sich Reichl mit Themen der Digitalisierung, Ökologie oder der prekären Arbeit.
